Chelsea McGonigal
Communications & Training Coordinator
Chelsea has worked with the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) since 2018 in various marketing and communications roles. Currently, she’s focused on developing the TOTA Training Centre and the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Resiliency Program. Chelsea is passionate about helping tourism businesses and professionals to offer exceptional experiences to people visiting the Thompson Okanagan region.
After studying Hospitality Management at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), Chelsea began her tourism career in food & beverage service and events with The Westin Hotel & Resort Calgary and Sky 360 Restaurant & Lounge in the Calgary Tower. She moved to Kelowna in 2013 to work in the wine industry, where she worked with Tantalus Vineyards, Discover Wines BC VQA Store, and the BC Wine Institute.
Learning about wine tourism in the Thompson Okanagan led to Chelsea’s desire to expand her career into tourism marketing and complete the Okanagan School of Business Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing Speciality and Communications Concentration. She offered freelance digital marketing services focused on big picture strategy with attention to small details before starting with TOTA.
Outside of work, you’ll find Chelsea sipping wine in tasting rooms, skiing down snowy slopes, and hiking the trails with her partner and their tiny adventure dog, Rocky.
